3 kinds of pretzels were recalled from Hy-Vee stores in 8 states

Hy-Vee recalled it’s store brand braided pretzels from stores in eight states for a possible mistake that could have “serious or life-threatening” consequences.

Hy-Vee’s FDA-posted recall notice says “it was discovered through a consumer complaint that product containing milk was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk.”

While a negligible problem for people without a food allergy, milk as an undeclared allergen is a problem for those with a milk allergy. As the notice says, “people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”

This involves 10-ounce bags of Hy-Vee’s Honey Mustard Braided Pretzels, lot Nos. D2162022, best by 8/9/2023, and D3332022, best by 12/1/2023
