Highlands County Fire Rescue and Highlands County sheriff’s deputies responded Friday evening to a plane crash off O’Neal Road in a remote area of Lorida.
Medics then transported two of the plane’s six occupants for treatment to local hospitals and transported the pilot to a landing zone along Blessings Avenue for airlift by Aeromed to a regional trauma center.
All six occupants of the plane survived and were alert, including the three who were injured.
The scene has since been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the crash.
Among the Fire Rescue units dispatched at 5:30 p.m. were Rescues 17 and 19, Engine 24, Battalion Chief 2, Division Chief 1, and Emergency Management.
