As many as 14 people – including three children – were wounded in a mass drive-by shooting Monday night on Chicago’s West Side.
Two victims were listed in critical condition. Police Supt. David Brown said it was over in about three seconds.
The children are 3, 11 and 13 years old, Police Supt. David Brown told reporters. All three were in serious condition. The other victims ranged in age from 31 to 56, police said.
The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. as some people gathered in the 2700 block of West Flournoy Street for a vigil and others were out for Halloween, police said. It was not known who the vigil was for.
“It’s over by three seconds,” Brown said outside Stroger Hospital, where many of the wounded were taken. “The car’s pulling out after driving by and shooting randomly into the crowd.
The suspects are still on the run the Chicago PD investigation. Officers on the scene report that there at least six people with critical injuries.
