One person was killed and four others, including three children, were critically wounded in a mass shooting Thursday morning in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.
The shooting happened around 6 a.m. in the 7100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department. One person was pronounced dead on arrival.
Three children were transported to Comer Children’s Hospital while one adult was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital, according to fire officials. They were all listed in critical condition.
Several evidence markers could be seen on the street where police officers were gathering.
