RawNews1st – 3 officers of the Chicago Police Department sustained injuries while attempting to direct traffic in the Lakeview neighborhood of the city when he was struck by a car that then fled the scene.
At approximately 9:37 p.m. on Friday night, three police officers were conducting a traffic stop in the 3200 block of North Sheffield Avenue. During the stop, one of the officers was struck by a car that was driving in the opposite direction.
The driver took off, but not before striking another parked vehicle and making an unsuccessful attempt to flee on foot.
The person in question was apprehended and taken into custody when they were found in the 900 block of West School Street.
During the foot pursuit, two additional officers were injured, and all three officers were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
There is no additional information available, and further charges are still being considered.
