Nobody will argue Chandler Jones has been one of the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL over the last nine years.
The Arizona Cardinals‘ defensive end recently made news when he requested a trade because he’s not happy with his current contract and his future with the team, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
There are currently no indications the Cards plan to trade him but they could eventually cave.
Jones is coming off a down year, in which he only appeared in five games and registered just one sack and a forced fumble.
Nevertheless, he has only missed one game from 2015 to 2019, so his health should not be a concern moving forward.
If Arizona grants Jones’ request and trades him, they could easily ask for a second-round pick. Of course, the team that gets the three-time Pro Bowl nod will also have to give him a raise.
That’s where the Jacksonville Jaguars come in.
They don’t really need Jones, as they already have Josh Allen and K’Lavon Chaisson but the addition of the 2012 first-round pick could help their defensive line go from good to great.
However, the Jaguars could also put together different trade packages to land Jones. After all, they are loaded at certain position groups, so they can get creative.
Keep in mind there are no reports currently linking the outside linebacker and Jacksonville.
In fact, Brad Spielberger and Austin Gayle of Pro Football Focus believe the three ideal landing spots for Jones may be the Buffalo Bills, the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Baltimore Ravens.
Here are three trade ideas involving the Cards defender and the Jaguars.
