SHOOTING SUSPECT 27-year-old Devon Smith is wanted for yesterday’s deadly shooting at the Days Inn hotel in Escambia County. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Sheriff Simmons says the man Smith shot and killed was out on bond for a homicide in 2022.
“They recognized each other from a previous beef,” Sheriff Simmons says. “The suspect pulls a handgun from his pants and ends up shooting the victim four times in the middle of the lobby.
Then he takes the victim’s phone and flees the lobby area in a pickup truck.”
