RawNews1st – 26-year-old Christian Wood stole an APD Bait car from the area of Gibson and Yale. Detectives were familiar with Mr. Wood and identified him through the interior bait car video.
Mr. Wood is a repeat Auto Theft offender with violent tendencies (Armed and Dangerous) and multiple outstanding felony warrants.
Wood along with two other suspects drove to the area of 1200 Dickerson where he attempted to dismantle the dash of the bait car.
While still at this location Wood then stole a second vehicle from the parking lot where he stole a 2006 Gray GMC Pickup New Mexico Plate 112SFA. Wood fled this location and detectives lost sight of the vehicle.
Detectives picked up the vehicle again in the area of Copper and San Mateo. While in the area of Grande and Alvarado Wood points a black firearm at Detective Lovato at which time one shot is fired by Mr. Wood.
Detective Lovato was not struck or injured.
Current charges for Wood are, Unlawful taking of a Motor Vehicle X2, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and aggravated Fleeing.
