A 24-year-old Albouystown man is this morning in police custody after he was found with an illegal 9mm pistol with magazine and seven live matching rounds of ammunition at Red Dragon, Robb Street, at around 04:30hr on Sunday.
In custody is Stefan Edwards.
According to report, ranks went to the popular nightclub and made contact with Edwards. A search of his person was requested, to which he agreed.
The gun and ammunition were found in his pants crotch.
He was asked if he is a licensed firearm holder, to which he replied “no.”
The suspect was told of the offense committed, cautioned, placed under arrest, and taken to the Brickdam Police Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
