23-year-old woman charged with manslaughter, DUI, and reckless driving: Child killed in car crash
5-YEAR-OLD KILLED IN CAR CRASH — 23-year-old woman charged with manslaughter, DUI, and reckless driving
On June 3rd, 2025, around 7:40 p.m., Officers responded to a head-on collision near 4600 N. MLK Jr. Blvd.
When Officers arrived, they learned a 5-year-old child was critically injured in the crash. The 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital. He died from his injuries two days later.
The Gilcrease Division Traffic Unit completed a full investigation into the crash. After interviewing witnesses and analyzing evidence, Officers determined 23-year-old Cierra Galloway was speeding on wet roads when her Chevy Malibu crossed over the center line and hit an approaching vehicle, a Chevy Cruze, head-on.
Cierra Galloway was the sole occupant in her vehicle.
The vehicle she hit had two occupants, a mother and her 5-year-old son. Both Galloway and the woman in the other vehicle went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A blood test from the hospital determined Galloway had a .18 blood alcohol concentration in her system at the time of the crash, more than double the legal limit.
After presenting all the evidence to the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office and Tulsa DA Steve Kunzweiler, on July 22nd, 2025, Cierra Galloway was charged with:
- 1st Degree Manslaughter
- Aggravated DUI
- Reckless Driving
Galloway turned herself in on Tuesday night, and she is currently booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
