$200K for mom accused of trafficking her daughters over Snapchat: Bond set
Investigators said 32-year-old Morgan Stapp offered lewd photos of her daughters, a 7-month-old and a 2-year-old, to unidentified men on multiple occasions.
An Indianapolis woman was charged Thursday after trying to sex traffic her own daughters over social media.
She initially told detectives her Snapchat had been compromised and denied sending the messages. After unsuccessfully trying to reset passwords, Stapp claimed she sold her old phone and bought a new one.
Investigators later found through an interview with DCS that Stapp lied to federal agents about getting a new phone, stating, “I wanted the FBI to leave.” Court docs say Stapp’s new phone gave her access to Snapchat.
During a search of her social media, investigators identified 81 instances of Stapp offering sexual photos of her daughters “to pay for diapers.”
She was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges of child sex trafficking.
In her initial court appearance Friday morning, Stapp informed the court that she is a stay-at-home mom with seven kids and receives government aid, as well as help from her parents. She has been unemployed for an unspecified amount of time, but does DoorDash and Instacart for additional income.
Stapp also noted the Department of Child Services removed her kids from her care in December, and she just received them back in June.
A judge set Stapp’s bond at $200,000 surety and issued a no-contact order for two of Stapp’s children.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported Stapp to IMPD in November 2024.
