At approximately 12:54 A.M. the Rock Island Police Department responded to the 1400 block of 8th Street in reference to a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived they located evidence of gunfire but no victims or witnesses.
Later, at approximately 1:49 A.M. Genesis Hospital in Silvis reported that a 20-year-old male with serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wounds arrived by private vehicle. The investigation linked the victim to this shooting incident.
No arrests have been made at this time and no other injuries or property damage has been reported.
The incident is being investigated by the Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division; no further information is available at this time.
