At least 20 shipping containers derail after train comes off track in Inverleigh, outside of Melbourne, Australia; injuries unclear.

A Victorian train has been derailed after a month of wild weather and widespread flooding damaged the rail tracks.

Shocking photos from the scene at Inverleigh, near Geelong, reveal the extent of the damage as more than 20 shipping containers lay sprawled across the nearby paddocks.

The train tracks had suffered damage during the wild weather and heavy rainfall over the weekend, which saw as much as 70mm fall over 24 hours in some areas.

Note: Authorities have confirmed no injuries have been reported yet, but they will be left with a large clean up.
