According to investigators, a 2-year-old boy in North Carolina got his hands on a gun and accidentally killed himself.
It happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday. at a residence in Johnson County
Warren Bennett Oser, 2, was found with a gunshot wound to his body when investigators arrived. Both of the boy’s parents were present.
The child was taken to Johnston Medical Center Clayton and died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives later discovered that the 2-year-old entered his father’s pickup truck through an open door and discovered a loaded handgun in the cab. The gun went off while he was playing with it.
According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the boy’s death was a “unfortunate accident,” but the investigation is still ongoing.
