In Lake County, Indiana, on Saturday, two teenagers were hurt and a man was killed when they discovered a grenade in a grandparent’s possessions.
According to the Lake County Sheriff, police were called to an explosion in the Lakes of the Four Seasons late on Saturday afternoon.
A hand grenade was discovered by a family while they were sorting through a grandfather’s possessions. When the pin was pulled, it burst into flames.
On the scene, a man passed away. Two teenagers, ages 17 and 18, were taken to the hospital right away with shrapnel injuries.
The area needed to be secured, and the Porter County Bomb Squad was called to check for additional explosives.
