Police say two people were killed in a shooting inside a convenience store on Chicago’s South Side on Monday.
The shooting occurred around 2:35 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Ashland Avenue in Englewood, according to Chicago police.
Around 4 p.m., a section of West Ashland Avenue was closed at West 63rd Street while crews investigated the scene.
According to police, the victim and the 28-year-old offender got into a fight before both died from gunshot wounds.
According to police, both individuals involved were taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
It is currently unknown what sparked the altercation or who fired the shots. CPD Area One Detectives are now investigating, according to police.
