Phoenix – A boy remained in extremely critical condition after being found at the bottom of a pool in Phoenix, according to Phoenix fire officials.
He sunk to the bottom of the backyard pool, according to fire officials. Around 11:45 a.m., crews responding to a drowning call got to the house near Happy Valley Road and Interstate 17 early on Sunday, where they found the boy, fire officials said.
By Sunday evening a second child had been pulled from a pool in critical condition after a call of drowning in Mesa, according to Mesa Fire Department.
Fire crews found the child after receiving a call about a drowning at a home near Ray and Crismon Roads.
There have been 26 drowning-related deaths this year in Maricopa and Pinal counties, including seven children under 6 and one child between 6 and 12, according to Children’s Safety Zone.
