WINSTON-SALEM STABBING TURNS DEADLY, 2 CHARGED: Police say these were not random acts of violence. According to the department:
Last night, Jamar Wiley, 38, of Winston-Salem, died from stabbing injuries he suffered near 16th and Liberty Streets yesterday morning.
Oscar Daniel Noyola-Lopez was charged with felony murder; he’s in jail with no bond.
Around 9 a.m. yesterday, officers responded to 16th/Liberty and found Wiley with a stab wound to the chest area. Wiley was involved in a verbal altercation with two people when one of them stabbed him before leaving in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Around 9:15 a.m. yesterday, officers responded to another stabbing near Bailey Park. Officers found a 26-year-old Kernersville man suffering a non-life-threatening stab wound.
Investigators learned the 26-year-old was walking in the area when the suspect ran up and attacked him before driving off in a Chevrolet Tahoe.
Two people were arrested. The vehicle used at both incidents was located at Northwest Boulevard and Marshall Street occupied by two people. Officers conducted a traffic stop.
Jeffrey Hugo Silva and Oscar Daniel Noyola-Lopez were arrested without incident in connection with both of these incidents.
At this time, this does not appear to be a random act of violence. Noyola was initially charge with felony assault and misdeamenor going armed to the terror of the public.
Silva was charged with felony assault and felony accessory. Both individuals appeared before the Magistrate and received no bond allowed.
