19-Year-Old New York Man Found Dead In Vacant Apartment At Public Housing Complex
Detectives in New York continue to investigate a mysterious murder at a public housing complex on Saturday afternoon.
Police said that 19-year-old Tristian Loran was found unconscious and unresponsive inside an apartment within the Castle Hill Houses campus at 535 Havemeyer Ave. in the Bronx at about 4:31 p.m. on May 20.
Officers from the 43rd Precinct and NYPD PSA 8, in responding to a 911 call, found Loran, a resident of Seward Avenue, who had apparently suffered trauma to the back of his head. Sources familiar with the case said that his injury appears to be consistent with a possible gunshot wound.
Loran was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS units. It’s not known how long his body had been at the location by the time it was discovered Saturday; sources said the apartment itself was believed to be vacant.
The Medical Examiner’s office is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Loran’s death, police sources reported.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, authorities said.
