The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that 18-year-old Tylar Jarod Goodloe is now in custody. The sheriff’s office posted a mugshot photo of Goodloe on their Facebook page early on Saturday. According to Sheriff Randy Johnson, citizens called their office with tips on Goodloe’s whereabouts.
Law enforcement members in Jasper County have identified a person of interest in the fatal shootings that took place Friday, Oct. 10, at the Heidelberg football game.
Gunshots rang out Friday night as the Heidelberg High School campus and football field were packed with fans for homecoming. Heidelberg hosted Mize.
Heidelberg Police Chief Cornell White said two people were shot and killed on the high school’s grounds, and at least one more was wounded. Police have not identified the shooting victims at this time. MBI agents and Mississippi Highway Patrol joined officers from Heidelberg and Bay Springs police departments, as well as the Jasper County Sheriff and his deputies, on scene Friday night. Authorities worked to secure the scene, treat victims, gather evidence, and search for the suspected shooter. Law enforcement worked at the school’s campus into Saturday’s early morning hours.
