TRAFFICKING FENTANYL ARREST
Officers initiated a traffic stop on a Nissan with a broken headlight near 9100 E. Newton.
The driver, later identified as Jose Ortiz, jumped out of the car and took off running. After a short chase, Officers took Ortiz into custody.
Ortiz was carrying a large amount of cash, and inside the car, Officers found:
- 170 grams of Fentanyl
- 7.5 grams of Cocaine
- 8 grams of Methamphetamine
- Digital scales and other drug paraphernalia
Jose Ortiz was arrested for:
- Aggravating Trafficking of Fentanyl
- Drug Possession
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Resisting Arrest
- Obstruction
- Several other traffic violations
