HOME INVASION AND STABBING — 14-year-old suspect arrested.

On July 11th, 2025, just after midnight, Officers responded to a home in a neighborhood near 51st and 193rd E. Ave. for a stabbing.

A man in his 40s called 911, saying someone broke into his house and stabbed him multiple times.

The suspect had thrown a propane tank at the back glass door, shattering it, and got into the house through the opening.

The victim said he first heard glass breaking, and when he went to investigate, he encountered a young male suspect inside his house.

The victim said he and the suspect got into a fight, then the suspect stabbed him and fled.

While Officers were responding to the original call, Officers received another call nearby from a woman who said a 14-year-old male with injuries showed up on her doorstep requesting help.

Officers quickly determined the 14-year-old male was the suspect in the burglary and stabbing. Officers were also able to verify that the juvenile lives in the same neighborhood.

This is an arrest, not a conviction.

Both the victim and the 14-year-old suspect received treatment at the hospital. The suspect was later released, taken into custody, and transported to the Community Intervention Center (CIC).
