The husband of 1000-LB Sisters star Tammy Slaton has died aged 40, just a year after they tied the knot.
Caleb Willingham, who met Slaton at an Ohio obesity rehab center, passed away from unknown causes.
Tammy paid tribute to her husband on Instagram, saying: ‘RIP sweet angel, you will forever be missed and loved so much thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness.’
The 40-year-old, nicknamed ‘Double K’, starred on the weight loss show alongside his wife as they battled their chronic obesity.
The two got married just weeks after they met, with Slaton telling People at the time: ‘Our wedding day was perfect, there was so much love in the room. I literally married my best friend.’
However, The Sun reported in May that the two were set to divorce because Caleb was ‘refusing to stick to his diet’.
The state of the couple’s relationship had been the subject of speculation for months, with fans noticing Tammy had removed Willingham’s name from some of her social media handles.
With rumors swirling around a possible breakup, an insider told The Sun that Tammy was ‘ready to file for divorce’ after they had a falling out over their diets.
‘They split up because Caleb hasn’t been following his diet in rehab,’ they alleged at the time. ‘He has gained 30lbs and hasn’t been working his program.’
They claimed Willingham tried to repair their marriage while they were separated, but his efforts were unsuccessful and Slaton was reportedly set to finalize the divorce.
According to TikTok star Sarah Fraser, his failing marriage had left him distraught, when he allegedly posted on Facebook: ‘We are married by paper only right now. Her decision not mine.
‘I’m hurt, mad, confused and alone even with others around,’ he added.
Willingham’s cause of death has not been released.
