March 19, 2022- 1:24 p.m.
According to Winston-Salem police:
•• Yesterday, around 8:30 p.m., officers went to the 2500 block of Green Oaks Court (south of I-40, east of 52, near Waughtown area) on a reported shooting.
•• The officers responded & were unable to locate any shooting victims. Officers did locate over 100 spent shell casings in the road. Officers also located several unoccupied cars that had been hit.
•• Witnesses reported hearing gunshots & cars speeding out. At 9:00 p.m., Alfredo Rivera, 24, of Winston-Salem, was dropped off at a local hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound.
•• Rivera stated he was on Green Oaks Court visiting a friend when he was struck by gunfire in the parking lot.
The victim was unable to provide any suspect information. The victim’s injury is to be considered non-life threatening.
