South Carolina – More than 100 pounds of marijuana worth about $300,000 was found during a traffic stop in South Carolina, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, authorities pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 95 near the 164 mile marker.
Authorities said a probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of more than 100 pounds of marijuana.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $300,000, authorities said.
Deputies arrested Hongzhou Yu, 34, of California, for trafficking in marijuana.
Under South Carolina law, a conviction for trafficking in marijuana (100 pounds or more but less than 2,000 pounds) is punishable by a sentence of 25 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
