1 dead, 1 hospitalized after overnight shooting in downtown Cincinnati
One person has died and another has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries after an overnight shooting downtown.
According to Cincinnati police, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Race Street in the Central Business District around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning for a report of a shooting.
Officers say they found a victim upon arrival who was transported to UC Medical Center, but died shortly after arriving.
Police have identified the victim as Lamonte Scruggs, 27.
Officials say a second victim was taken to UC Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not identify the second victim.
CPD says their homicide unit is investigating. Anyone with information on Sunday morning’s shooting is asked to call CPD at 513-352-3542.
