Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced Thursday that the state has filed a lawsuit against Roblox Corp., accusing the #1 gaming site for children and teens of facilitating child sexual abuse material and failing to protect children from predators.

Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana. Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators because it prioritizes user growth, revenue, and profits over child safety.

Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger posed to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their own home.”

Roblox, launched in 2006, allows users to create and play interactive games, or “experiences,” and communicate in real time. The platform reports nearly 82 million daily active users and more than 6.4 million experiences.

According to company data, 20% of users are under age 9, 20% are ages 9 to 12, 16% are ages 13 to 16 and 44% are 17 or older.

The lawsuit also cites examples of games containing sexually explicit material and simulated sexual activity, as well as reports of groups trading child pornography.

The state of Louisiana claims Roblox does not verify user ages or require parental consent, allowing children to bypass age restrictions and enabling predators to pose as minors.

Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger poised to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their own home.
