World has Never Been More Threatened or Divided: UN Chief SCOLDS Global Leaders

Secretary General Antonio Guterres said human rights are under fire, science is under assault and economic possibilities for the world’s most vulnerable are going by the wayside, during an address at the General Assembly on Tuesday.

“I am here to sound the alarm: The world must wake up. We are on the edge of an abyss — and moving in the wrong direction. Our world has never been more threatened. Or more divided. We face the greatest cascade of crises in our lifetimes,” he said.

Guterres’ main point of focus was the Coronavirus pandemic, pointing out the glaring ‘selfishness’ of some countries when it came to hoarding the vaccine as other country’s shelves sat empty.
