Woman shot outside of a midtown pawn shop, suspect arrested, police say
Woman shot outside of a midtown pawn shop, suspect arrested. Just before midnight, Officers responded to a shooting at the QT at 11th and Utica.
Officers found a 44-year-old woman in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the hip area.
Officers learned the shooting took place down the street outside of the EZ Pawn at 8th and Utica.
The victim was taken to the hospital and into surgery. She passed away from her injuries early this morning.
An hour after the initial shooting call, Officers received a call from a man saying he was the suspect in the shooting.
The suspect, identified as Joe Ryan, claimed someone tried to carjack him near the pawn shop, and he fired a shot attempting to get away.
Through our investigation, Homicide Detectives were able to eliminate the suspect’s claim of an attempted carjacking. The suspect declined to answer additional questions, and the investigation is ongoing.
Joe Ryan was booked into the Tulsa County Jail for 1st Degree Murder.
