Woman Accused Of Lacing Lasagna With Oxycodone To Cause Miscarriage
RawNews1st – Investigators say a woman delivered a family-sized pan of lasagna to a household in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, that had been intentionally laced with oxycodone.
Authorities said the lasagna was intended to cause a pregnant woman in the household to miscarry after eating it.
According to investigators, the food was later tested by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory, where it tested positive for oxycodone.
In January 2026, authorities received a report about the lasagna and opened an investigation into the incident.
Investigators said the suspect did not act alone and that another person helped spike the food before it was delivered to the family.
On March 10, 2026, authorities charged 36-year-old Amber Snow, of Decorah, in connection with the incident.
Snow faces charges including delivery of a controlled substance, intentionally terminating a human pregnancy without the knowledge and voluntary consent of the pregnant person, aggravated misdemeanor child endangerment, two counts of administering a harmful substance to an adult, and two counts of administering a harmful substance to a juvenile.
Investigators said the fetus survived the incident. Authorities also said they expect additional arrests as the investigation continues.
Snow is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
