Woman Accused Of B*heading Her Boyfriend Sobbed In Court As She Withdrew Her Guilty Plea!
Michaels was arrested for the murder of Willette in 2023. According to an arrest report, Willette’s mother told Henderson Police that Willette was last with Michaels the night before she discovered his body.
Devyn Michaels, now 47, was originally scheduled for sentencing after pleading guilty to 46-year-old Johnathan Willette’s murder, but she started crying as she gave her statement to Judge Tierra Jones.
The woman accused of killing and beheading her boyfriend at a Henderson home two years ago withdrew her guilty plea, telling a judge she instead wants to head to trial in an emotional hearing Thursday.
Henderson Police wrote that his “head was severed and was not located at the crime scene.” There was also a chemical smell, and fumes could be seen coming from his body.
Officers found Williette’s keys, wallet and social security card in Michaels’ home. Michaels later admitted to hitting Willette’s head with a wooden stick, which caused him to go limp.
A detective asked Michaels if it was possible that she killed Willette and didn’t remember, and she answered that it was “very possible,” the report stated.
Michaels reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty last year to a charge of second-degree murder. On Thursday in court, however, Michaels accused law enforcement of manipulation and at one point angrily addressed the prosecutor, Deputy District Attorney John Giordani.
“You pled guilty, ma’am,” Giordani interjected.
