According to Berwyn police, officers near Lincoln Middle School heard gunfire at approximately 4:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Police in suburban Berwyn say three people are dead after a domestic shooting outside a middle school Tuesday afternoon.

Officers then observed a man firing a long rifle into another vehicle. Those officers were then targeted by gunfire from another suspect, but did not return fire, according to authorities.

During the shooting, at least three people suffered gunshot wounds, and all three have been pronounced dead, police said.

The school was immediately placed into a hard lockdown following the shooting, and no injuries were immediately reported inside the building.

Police believe the shooting was domestic in nature, and do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public at this time.
