US: All federal prisons in LOCKDOWN after fatal gang fight

After two inmates at a Texas prison were murdered in a brutal gang fight, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) decided to lock down every single one of their prisons across the US.

The violence at Beaumont high security prison sparked “an abundance of caution” covering all 150,000 inmates at the BOP’s 134 facilities as fears grew of retaliatory violence elsewhere.

The two gangs involved were reportedly the El Salvador-linked MS-13 – estimated by the FBI to have over 10,000 members in the States – and the Mexican mafia, which has 300 members in the US prison system.
