Suspect charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action
On September 23, 2025 around 8:05 p.m., police said officers responded to a stabbing in the 1200 block of Bliss Drive in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri. Upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Taylar Hill.
Police said 22-year-old Craig Jones attacked his sister unprovoked, striking her in the head several times with a seven-pound dumbbell, and then stabbing her several times with a steak knife.
Jones ran from the scene and was later taken into custody. Police said he admitted he murdered his sister and had been planning on killing someone for about a week.
Jones is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is being held in the St. Louis County Jail without bond.
