Suspect charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime
On September 18, 2025, police say officers responded to the Polynesian Ocean Front Hotel on 1001 South Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound and took a woman into custody.
Officers later identified the woman as 29-year-old Kelsey Miller. She is being charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and two drug possession charges. She was also cited for prostitution.
Allegedly, Miller met the man on Reddit before exchanging phone numbers. She then sent him her location, telling him to meet her at the hotel.
Police said once the man entered the hotel room, Miller asked, “Where is my money?”
Investigators said the man told Miller he did not have money and that he was not going to pay for sex.
Miller responded, “If you do not give me my money, I’ll go get my man,” the warrant said. The man then turned around to leave, when Miller shot him in his left arm.
Miller was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
Myrtle Beach police said another person was also taken into custody in connection with the shooting, but did not immediately identify them.
