Police say a woman died from a gunshot injury after a domestic disturbance

Sioux City Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman that happened around 9:30 P.M. at 3319 Nebraska Street. Police said they responded to a 911 domestic disturbance call where a woman was pleading for help.
When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot injury. In a news release, police reported the woman died after arriving at the hospital.
23-year-old Austyn Self of Sioux City was booked into Woodbury County Jail for first-degree murder and three counts of child endangerment.
The woman’s name isn’t being released until her family has been notified.
