A multi-agency effort has led to the capture of a prison escapee.
Recently, we asked for the public’s assistance locating these two individuals, 45-year-old walk away, Joey Mena and a woman who was believed to be with Mena, 37-year-old Michelle Kjeldgaard.
Teamwork between their Fugitive Apprehension Team, the United States Marshals Service and the Oklahoma City Police Department led to their arrest at a residence in the 4000 block of SE 45th Street on Friday.
Mena had walked away from Bill Johnson Correctional Center, launching a weeklong manhunt for the fugitive.
