The man who decapitated his wife has died by suicide while in prison, according to state officials.
Angie Diaz was found decapitated inside the couple’s home in Waller County back in 2023 , her head severed with a kitchen knife. Her husband, Jared James Dicus, remained at the scene and confessed to the killing.
Diaz was from Nicaragua and worked two jobs to help pay for her aunt’s cancer treatment back home.
Dicus pleaded guilty in 2024 and was serving a 40-year prison sentence when officials confirmed he died last Friday.
