A man was killed after his car crashed in the West Lawn neighborhood of Chicago’s South Side on Monday morning.

According to police, an Acura SUV jumped a curb and struck a light post and a tree in the 6100 block of South Cicero Avenue around 4 a.m.

The driver of the SUV was injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet released his identity.

There were no other injuries reported.

Area One detectives are looking into it.
