A 30-year-old man was critically wounded Wednesday morning in a drive-by shooting on Chicago’s West Side, according to police.

According to CBS Chicago, the man, described by police as 30 years old, was outside between Fillmore and Roosevelt when the shooting erupted.

The attack unfolded about 11:10 a.m. in the 1100 block of South Mozart Street in the North Lawndale neighborhood, when someone in a black car drove past and opened fire.

A person in the passing black car fired several rounds, hitting him multiple times before speeding off.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

The 1100 block of South Mozart Street has seen repeated gunfire over the years, with past shootings leaving people wounded and, in at least one case, killed.
