Male is accused of assaulting someone and leaving them to die

A 22-year-old is accused of assaulting someone and leaving them to die in a rural area of Rockingham County.
According to Greensboro police:
• Last Wednesday, around 6 p.m., Greensboro police received information from Rockingham County deputies that a person had been assaulted and kidnapped from Greensboro.
• Victim was taken to a rural area in Rockingham County and left with life-threatening injuries. The victim’s vehicle had also been stolen.
• After being found, the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition due to injuries from an assault
• The vehicle was later found in the area of Spring Garden Street in Greensboro
• Detectives determined that Dewonyea Malone, 22, was involved with the abduction and the assault.
• He’s charged with larceny, assault, robbery and first-degree kidnapping
