As more ice accumulation is seen and starts forming on the roadway, residents are urged not to get on the road to drive vehicles until it has been deemed safe. If driving is necessary due to an emergency, follow these driving tips for a better commute.

The 11Alive traffic team is reporting that the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has closed all express lanes because many of them are elevated, which can lead to an increase in ice accumulation.

As of 8:40 a.m., Atlanta Fire officials said a tree is blocking Childress Dr. SW. Crews responded to reports of wires down at a home in that area and located the tree blocking the road.

A tree was reported down in White, in Bartow County, on Highway 411 at 61 Northbound at Industrial Drive early Sunday morning. As of 6:40 a.m., the road is closed to traffic. It is not clear if the tree fell due to ice accumulation or wind gusts, but as of 6:40 a.m. the northbound lane is blocked.
