A homicide investigation has been launched after a man was discovered fatally shot in the head in Joliet on Tuesday.
Joliet police officers responded to the 600 block of East Benton Street for a report of shots fired around 10:18 a.m.
Officers arrived to find a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the head in the street.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
The shooting is being investigated as a one-time occurrence.
