Hershey’s is phasing out all artificial food dyes and ingredients from its products, aiming to complete the transition by the end of 2027.

This decision aligns with a broader trend among food manufacturers responding to consumer demand for cleaner labels and increased scrutiny from regulatory bodies.

The move comes as several states are enacting or considering regulations that ban or restrict artificial color additives, and Hershey’s spokesperson mentioned that this is a natural step to ensure consumers have options while maintaining trust.

This will affect a wide range of Hershey’s products, including chocolate bars, candies like Jolly Rancher and Twizzlers, and other items that traditionally use artificial colors.

Hershey’s will be exploring alternative ingredients to achieve the desired colors without using artificial dyes.

The decision is driven by a combination of factors, including growing consumer demand for cleaner labels and increasing regulatory scrutiny.
