RawNews1st – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking video footage related to the disappearance of a 64-year-old man earlier this month.

It was reported to police that Hongsang (Howard) Rho left his residence in the area of 110 Street and 11 Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022.

Investigators also confirmed that Rho may have been seen at 7:45 a.m. that morning on a walking trail near Twin Brooks Drive (see map).

Investigators are now asking residents of the Twin Brooks neighbourhood to please check their home security and dash camera footage for any sightings of a male matching Rho’s description, specifically on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022 between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

Rho is 5’6” tall, weighs approximately 143 lbs and has grey hair that reaches the base of his neck. Officers have again updated his clothing description to include a long sleeve burgundy shirt (pictured below), light grey sweatpants, black sneakers and silver wired-framed glasses with transition lenses.

Rho also reportedly had some light stubble on his face and was carrying a small light grey backpack with text on the front.

Rho has been struggling with his mental health and has potential signs of early onset dementia. His disappearance is out of character and, as such, family and police are concerned for his welfare.

Rho is known to enjoy walks in the green space and on the walking trails east of his residence and may have walked into the nearby ravine.

Family, friends and police have been actively searching green spaces across the city but have been unable to locate him.

Citizens who regularly frequent Edmonton’s green spaces and ravines, in particular in southwest Edmonton, to contact police if they see anyone meeting Rho’s description.

Anyone who has information about Rho’s whereabouts is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567
