Davos World Economic Forum Postponed over Omicron
World leaders, billionaires and executives will not be descending on the Swiss resort town of Davos this coming January.
The World Economic Forum said in a release that pandemic conditions had made it “extremely difficult” to stage a global in-person meeting next month, adding that the omicron Covid variant and travel restrictions made the deferral necessary.
The event aimed at tackling “economic, environmental, political and social fault-lines exacerbated by the pandemic will now be moved to early summer.
