Meet Jiaxin Tian, a Chinese National, who was arrested in New Orleans by state and federal officers for reportedly distributing s*xual abuse material involving CHILDREN.

According to Murrill, Tian possessed and distributed child sexual abuse material involving children under the age of 13, including images and videos involving very young children.

Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI), along with the New Orleans Police Department and several other local and federal agencies, executed a search warrant at the home as part of the investigation.

During and after the arrest, the AG’s office said several immigration activists confronted law enforcement officers near the scene. According to Murrill, the protesters shouted at officers, used vehicle horns, and followed law enforcement vehicles through nearby neighborhoods as they left the area.

Murrill said the agents involved were in the area to arrest a suspect accused of crimes against children and were subjected to harassment while doing their jobs.

“Our office will investigate any attempts to harm or obstruct our agents for doing their jobs in taking child sex predators off the streets. This behavior will not be tolerated,” she said.

Tian is a Chinese national who has been in the United States on an academic visa since 2021, according to Murrill. After his arrest, he was taken to the Orleans Parish Prison for booking.

He is charged with 150 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving children under 13. Bond information was not immediately available.

The investigation remains ongoing.
