RawNews1st – Boyfriend Wanted For Shooting Death Of Pregnant Mother Of 3 in Alabama
The Bessemer Police Department said just before 6:00 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Avenue C in Bessemer on a possible stabbing.
When they arrived they found 33-year-old Cynthia A. Cardenas still sitting behind the wheel of a car she was driving earlier that night. Cardenas’ family said she was five months pregnant.
Police said detectives later learned Cardenas had been shot, not stabbed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Cardenas and her boyfriend, 28-year-old Hector Medina-Grajeda, were at a party in Sylacauga Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Detectives secured a capital murder warrant for Hector in the shooting death of Cardenas.
Police said detectives followed leads that showed Medina-Grajeda fled Alabama into Lebanon, Tennessee.
Police said Medina-Grajeda and his brother 24-year-old Monseath Elezar Medinia Grajeda, stayed at the Days Inn by Wyndham in Lebanon, but checked out before law enforcement could respond.
