The state-run Tehran Times reported one explosion at a residential building in the southwestern city of Ahvaz, near Iran’s border with Iraq, which killed four people. A separate explosion occurred at Iran’s southern port of Bandar Abbas. Israeli officials denied the country’s involvement.
Two Israeli officials told Reuters that Israel is not involved in the series of blasts that occurred in Iran.

The Ahvaz Fire Department has also announced that a family of four lost their lives in a gas explosion that occurred in a four-unit building in the Iranian city, BBC Persian reported.
A separate explosion occurred at Iran’s southern port of Bandar Abbas. The semi-official Tasnim news agency said that social media reports alleging that a Revolutionary Guard navy commander was targeted in the explosion were “completely false.”
According to BBC Persian, the director general of Crisis Management for Hormozgan Province, in which Bandar Abbas is located, reported that “one person was killed and 14 were injured” in the incident.
Iranian media said the Bandar Abbas blast was being investigated but gave no further information. Later on Saturday, Iranian state media said a gas leak caused the explosion in Bandar Abbas, citing the chief of the local Fire Department.
