The I-55 Stevenson Expressway saw extensive delays on Thursday after a semi hit a bridge, and crews cleaned up a large spill.
Chopper 7 was over the scene just after 7 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-55 at La Grange Road.
Illinois State Police said the crash happened at 4:25 a.m.
A semi struck the overpass bridge, ISP said.
It was not immediately clear what spilled on the expressway, however Hazmat crews were called.
Traffic was only able to get by using the shoulder.
